cornerstone training
training courses
Our core training is offered in two stages that together provide a thorough investigation and practical exploration of the Christian worldview and life centred on Jesus Christ. Rigorous study is integrated with personal reflection and practical mission.
The first stage is the Certificate IV in Christian Studies (91529NSW). This is a residential course offered at a training campus, focused on Biblical studies and personal growth in a context of community life, work and mission. The Certificate III in Christian Studies (91530NSW) is a shorter course of about 6 months ‘nested’ within this first stage of training.
The second stage of training is the Diploma of Christian Studies (91528NSW). This course builds directly on the Certificate IV and includes placement with a mission team in an Australian town or suburb – an ‘on the job’ context for the next level of training. The units for the Diploma have a strong practical emphasis, aiming to deepen Biblical knowledge, personal maturity and practical skills in Christian mission.
Leadership Training
A third stage of training is offered at Burrabadine, the campus for the Bill Vincent Memorial School of Christian Leadership. Intended for those wishing to work long-term with Cornerstone and other ministries, this training year integrates mature Biblical reflection and issues related to both practical leadership and strategic mission. Those who successfully complete all three years of training will be awarded the Advanced Diploma of Christian Studies (91527NSW).
