cornerstone community

upcoming events

Cornerstone Community frequently runs a range of events for the wider community, including churches, youth groups and school. These include camps and ‘mini-schools’ – teaching days and weekends focused on specific themes.

We also run a number of annual conferences open to the general public, particularly those interested in finding out about Cornerstone’s courses and mission. They include:

  • ‘Summer schools’ in December/January at one or two centres
  • Mini-musters in June/July … gatherings focused on our teams’ ministries, for sharing, teaching and refreshment
  • 'Winter schools’ in July/August at one or two centres
  • ‘Open Week’ in October at Burrabadine … experiencing Cornerstone by immersion in the community life, working and teaching.
  • Muster … our main annual gathering, with reports, teaching, catching up, celebrating the past year and commissioning for the coming year.

For further information on coming events, contact the relevant centre or our National office.

On the first weekend of each December, Cornerstone Community comes together for our main annual 'Muster' in Dubbo, NSW.
The Muster is a great time of celebration, encouragement, teaching and commissioning. It provides a great opportunity to get the 'big picture' of what this network of missional communities is about, and what we are doing in regional Australia and elsewhere.

Come walk with us in the steps of Jesus!

Les Follent and Martin Watson are taking a group of people to Egypt, Jordan and Israel in early 2012. It will be an opportunity to connect more deeply with the Gospel stories and with Jesus himself as they follow in his footsteps. As well, there will be the chance to experience Israel as it is *today *- its places and its people, as part of a community of fellow-travellers.

"We are hoping to take 36 people from Australia, and we're also working towards making it possible for Kwadwo and Emmanuel from Cornerstone Ghana to come as well. It would be a very significant investment in what they are doing in Ghana, and it would be quite special to have them along as part of the group. Departure is from either Melbourne or Sydney on the 20th January (about 3am) and we'll arrive back in Australia on 7th February."

Full details of the trip are in a brochure available online from the "Mission Travel" web-site. People who are interested can also contact Les Follent (les@cornerstone.edu.au) or Martin Watson (martin@cornerstone.edu.au) directly.
